Motorists are advised that the centre of Clitheroe will be closed to traffic on Saturday, August 14, for the Clitheroe Fine Food and Craft Street Market.

Castle Street will be closed from its junction with Castlegate to its junction with King Street and King Lane from 5am to 7pm.

Traffic from Moor Lane approaching Castlegate will be diverted down Parson Lane, right along Station Road, right again up King Street, then left onto Market Place.

Only accident and emergency vehicles will have access to the centre of the town.

Ribble Valley Borough Council's Chief Executive, Marshal Scott, said: "The road closure has been implemented for Clitheroe's first fine food and craft street market.

"It is appreciated that the arrangements may cause some inconvenience, but the safety of residents and visitors is of paramount importance.

"We are requesting everyone's co-operation, so that the event can be enjoyed in a safe and relaxed atmosphere."

Ends.
