Refuse Collections

We have now collected the outstanding waste from all areas except half of Read and Simonstone. These areas will be collected this Friday and it will be blue week for recycling.

Blue Badge (Disabled) Parking Permits

Disabled Parking (Blue Badge Holders)

Disabled Parking Blue Badges are provided by Lancashire County Council

The Department of Transport has provided more information about the rights and responsibilities of a blue badge holder including where they can and cannot park. For example a blue badge holder can park for up to three hours on a double/single yellow line. However, if they park on dropped crossings, they would be causing an obstruction to other road users and so, could be liable to receive a penalty charge notice.

It allows badge holders to park close to their destination, but the national concessions apply only to on-street parking. Other concessions may be available to blue badge holders in different areas.
