Councillor Stuart Hirst
Councillor Stuart Hirst has represented Ramsgreave & Wilpshire Ward on Ribble Valley Borough Council since 2003, having previously served for eight years on Blackburn Borough Council.
He has a law degree from the University of Dundee and has worked all his life in the paper manufacturing and printing industries – running his own business for the last 30 years.
He married his wife and Mayoress Elaine in 1986 and they have two adult children: Rob and Annie.
Stuart is a keen lifelong walker and a member of the Long Distance Walker’s Association. He has walked the Cumbria Way and the Coast to Coast Path and is currently completing the 214 Wainwright Peaks in the Lake District, but also enjoys many local walks in his native Ribble Valley.
