Summer Exhibition Showcases the Beauty of Nature
This summer the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe is showcasing the beauty of the natural world around us in an eye-catching display of creative talent.
The “Inspired by Nature” exhibition runs at the gallery until the end of September and features work by professional artists and creators in a wide range of mediums.
Councillor Stuart Hirst, chair of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s community services committee, said: “The Inspired by Nature exhibition features some highly imaginative and beautiful work that captures the wonder of our natural world.
“We’re very fortunate to be surrounded by a rich and diverse natural landscape that we can celebrated in such an eye-catching way.
“The artists have dramatically captured nature in all its glory on paper, ceramics, glass and other materials and I’d encourage anyone with a love of nature to come and along and see it for themselves.”
Gallery supervisor Jacklyn Shackleton added: “We’re beyond delighted that our summer exhibition Inspired By Nature is underway.
“It’s a wonderful showcase of 12 British craftspeople exploring the theme of nature. The work on display is as bountiful and varied as the natural world itself.”
The display includes forged giant wildflowers by Maxine Hunt; Verity Pulford’s micro-organisms inspired Pate-de-Verre glassware; large scale vibrant stitched rolling hills by Donna Cheshire; and dark, enchanting layered woodland prints by Rachel Thornton.
Entry to the gallery is free.
