Charities and community groups across Ribble Valley are being invited to apply for up to £100,000 to help fund a wide range of community projects.

Ribble Valley Borough Council has allocated more than £1.65 million of money to be invested in capital projects over the current financial year.

Capital generally refers to one-off spending such as building improvements, creating infrastructure or buying equipment, rather than ongoing costs on things such as services or staff.

Grants of up to £100,000 are available to eligible organisations that successfully apply for funding to deliver schemes that will benefit local people.

Any group or organisation interested in benefiting from the Shared Prosperity and Jubilee Fund Grant must submit an expression of interest form before 30th May.

All full grant applications must be with the council by the end of August and, if successful, the project must be completed and grant funding spent by the end of the current financial year.

The grants are open to the following groups:

  • Town and parish councils
  • Registered charity or community organisations
  • Charitable incorporated organisation (CIO)
  • Community benefit society (Bencom)
  • Constituted community groups

The project must be located within Ribble Valley Borough Council boundaries.

Priority will be given to projects that haven’t previously benefited from UK Shared Prosperity (UKSPF) or Rural England Prosperity funding.

Details on the funding, how to lodge an expression of interest, and how to apply are available on the council’s website Ribble Valley Shared Prosperity and Jubilee Fund (2025/26) – Ribble Valley Borough Council

Among the kind of projects that could benefit from the funding are creating kitchens in community hubs, enhancing community gardens or green spaces, improving cycle or footpaths, and providing equipment to local volunteer groups.

Nicola Hopkins, the council’s director of economic development and planning, said: “This is an opportunity for local community groups, charities and others to get a financial helping hand to fund a wide range of initiatives that will benefit local communities.

“It could help make our borough cleaner, greener and safer in any number of ways by providing financial support to get a much-needed idea off the ground.”
