Free Spots on Offer at Clitheroe Christmas Market

Clitheroe Market Christmas Market - Saturday 29 November 2025 between 9am and 4pm

Organisers of a Christmas market in Clitheroe are ho-ho-hoping it will be a cracker – thanks to a one-off offer of free spots for festive traders.

Around 30 stalls are available for the day at no charge in the “bullring” at Clitheroe Market – and organiser Ribble Valley Borough Council is hoping the offer will attract a wide range of traders and give existing stallholders a boost at the same time.

The Christmas market will be held on Saturday 29th November, between 9am and 4pm.

Any trader interested in wrapping up a slot at the event should email Regeneration@ribblevalley.gov.uk

Councillor Richard Newmark, chairman of the council’s economic development committee, said:

“Clitheroe Market draws in visitors from a wide area and we’re hoping that this festive event will bring in even more people to see what it has to offer.

“While we want people to come along to the Christmas market, we’re hoping they won’t be too ‘wrapped up’ in it and take the time to see what else Clitheroe town centre has to offer as well.”

Clitheroe Market’s “bullring” underwent a £250,000 refurbishment earlier this year, including new flagging and street furniture and improvements to the stalls.

The town has had a market since the 12th Century. It is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and features more than 80 stalls selling fruit and vegetables, bread and cakes, fish and meat, clothing, curtains and fabrics, flowers and electrical goods.
