Experts at a major national tourism trade show have raised their glasses to a pub-themed exhibition stand aimed at putting the spotlight on Ribble Valley.

Ribble Valley Tourism team picked up a top award for its eye-catching trade stand at the British Tourism and Travel show at Birmingham NEC, beating competition from top visitor destinations across Britain.

The award was made for the best trade stand at the British Tourism and Travel show, which was attended by group tour operators, travel agents, travel journalists and tourism experts.

The Love Ribble Valley stand recreated a typical cosy pub atmosphere which pulled in visitors, who voted it the stand the best in show.

The event is the premier tourism show for the travel trade. The Ribble Valley tourism team was at the event to promote opportunities for tourism in Ribble Valley, and Lancashire as a whole.

Event manager Lloyd Jones said:

"We were delighted to present Love Ribble Valley with a certificate of excellence for Best Dressed Stand at the show, as voted for by our visitors.

“The stand had real warmth and personality. With its homely pub setting and a local ale on display, it offered a real taste of the destination. The team was welcoming and engaging, creating a space that encouraged visitors to stop and spend time there.”

Ribble Valley Borough Council’s tourism and events officer Tom Pridmore said:

“We were absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award for a stand which we designed to capture the essence and quality of Ribble Valley.

“We greatly value the support of Ribble Valley’s key tourism businesses in this hugely successful promotion.”
