And today the council’s leader praised council taxpayers for their civic spirit and prompt payment, along with the authority’s revenues and benefits team for their ‘outstanding work’.
Council leader Simon Hore said:
“Ribble Valley has had the lowest council tax in Lancashire for several years and now has the best collection rate of any district authority in the country.
“These are significant achievements built on many years of careful financial management, as well as the skill and dedication of staff, who know their jobs inside out and deliver first-class services, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
“Since the council’s creation in 1974, Ribble Valley has become one of the most successful boroughs and visitor destinations in the country, with high customer satisfaction rates and an outstanding record in financial management.
“Council tax helps us fund vital services, such as refuse collection, street cleansing and recreation facilities, and I would like to thank council taxpayers for their civic spirit and prompt payment, and the authority’s revenues and benefits team for their outstanding work.”
