Stuck for something to do during the summer holidays? Curious to know what Suminagashi or Sgraffito are?

The Platform Gallery, Clitheroe, is staging a series of summer Sunday sessions that give visitors of all ages and abilities the chance to get crafty and brush up on some creative skills – and they’re all free.

Gallery supervisor Jacklyn Shackleton said:

“We’re excited to announce this year’s summer Sundays programme. We had such a great time getting creative with our visitors last year we can’t wait to see what everyone takes home this year!

 

“It’s a jam-packed schedule designed to complement our current Hand & Heritage exhibition with lots of free drop-in craft sessions for adults and children alike and it promises to be great fun.”

The Hand & Heritage exhibition runs until Saturday 12 September. It showcases artists whose practice is rooted in a range of crafting traditions and is a celebration and reminder of the importance of keeping artisan skills alive.

The gallery, which is next to the town’s railway station, is open Sundays from 26 July up to and including Sunday 30 August, 11am-4pm. Note, workshops end at 3pm and where materials are limited may wrap up sooner. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
