Statement of Community Involvement
Public Consultation Launched for a Revised Statement of Community Involvement
The requirement to prepare a Statement on Community Involvement is set out in the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. The document also reflects the requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, the Localism Act 2011, and the National Planning Policy Framework.
Ribble Valley Borough Council has launched a six-week public consultation seeking comments on the proposed revisions to the Council’s Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
The SCI sets out how the Council proposes to engage and involve the local community, stakeholders and relevant organisations to comment and engage throughout the planning process. Community involvement facilitates discussions and feedback which influences decision making.
The revised SCI provides comprehensive information regarding the differing planning processes to help clarify the points at which engagement opportunities would be available.
The Revised Draft of the SCI can be found here.
