Housing and Economic Development DPD (HED DPD)

Following the adoption of the Core Strategy in December 2014 the Council has prepared a Housing and Economic Development Development Plan Document (HED DPD). This plan sets out more detailed policy coverage for matters relating to housing and economy to fully implement the policies of the Core Strategy. The HED DPD is accompanied by a Proposals Map which shows on an Ordnance Survey base the extent of allocations and designations arising from the adopted Core Strategy and the HED DPD. The adopted HED DPD and Proposals Map form part of the statutory development plan for the borough.

The main stages of plan preparation are as follows:

• Issues and Options (Regulation 18)
  A public consultation was held on this stage of the document from 26 August - 7 October 2016.
• Publication of Preferred Option (Regulation 19)
  A public consultation was held on this stage of the document from 28 April - 9 June 2017.
• Submission to Secretary of State (Regulation 22)
  The DPD was submitted to the Secretery of State on 28 July 2017 and a public consultation was held on this stage of the document from 31 July - 11 September 2017.
• Examination in Public (Regulation 24)
  The Examination stage was completed with the inspectors report issued on 10 September 2019.
• Adoption (Regulation 26)
  The HED DPD was adopted on 15 October 2019. View the relevant HED DPD Adoption Documents and proposals maps.
