Planning History Search
If you wish to research the planning history of a site/property which is not already available to view online, please contact 01200 425111 and ask to speak to the Planning Department to make an appointment.
PLEASE NOTE: LIMITED DETAILS ONLY of all planning applications received by the Local Planning Authority (Ribble Valley Borough Council) since 1989 are available to VIEW ONLINE but to view the whole of any planning file you will always need to visit the Council Offices and read a scanned or microfiche copy yourself.
Copyright Notice: Plans, drawings and material submitted to the Council are protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for personal/private use, for example to compare current applications with previous schemes, or to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. You cannot use them, for example, to build from, or to copy from to use as part of your own planning application, unless you have the architect's permission.
To make an appointment the Planning Adminstration Team will require the following information:
- Name
- Contact Telephone Number
- Details of the application you wish to view (application number or full site details with a location plan)
This will enable the team to ensure that the planning application files you have asked to view are ready for your alloted appointment time, and that there is a room for you to view them in. (PLEASE NOTE we cannot do your search for you).
Local Land Charges Search
If you wish to pay for a local land charges search instead which will contain a complete planning history of any specified site, you will need to contact our Local Land Charges Department on 01200 414405 well in advance of your visit to apply for one.
Planning Decisions
Planning permissions last a set amount of time. This time limit is always shown in the conditions of the planning permission. To see these conditions you must look at the planning decision notice.
If the planning permission runs out before you start to build you must submit another application and start the planning process again. There is no guarantee that a second application will receive the same decision as the original, as planning policy may have altered.
If you need a copy of a decision notice we can provide one if you let us have the full application number and the relevant fee. Once we have received payment you will be able to collect your decision notice from our offices or we will be able to post/email it to you.
We can provide copies of any of the public documents on the planning application files we keep, subject to a photocopying charge and provision of the relevant application number.
