Invitation to Tender for Improvement Works to Clitheroe Castle Grounds

Scheme Details

Ribble Valley Borough Council have issued an Invitation to Tender to all those wishing to tender to the council for the Improvement Works to Clitheroe Castle Grounds, Clitheroe, Lancashire. Clitheroe Castle Grounds is an urban park within the town of Clitheroe. The grounds comprise a castle keep scheduled monument, museum, children’s playground, multi-use games area, outdoor gym, café and bowling green, bandstand, public toilets and landscaped areas.

This contract is for improvement works to the infrastructure, footpaths, seats, bins, bollards, amenity lighting of the castle grounds and the reconstruction of the bandstand arena.

Throughout the year the park normally hosts a comprehensive programme of public events including a circus, fairgrounds and bonfire on the castle field and a number of concerts at the bandstand. Whilst most events have been cancelled for the duration of this contract there are 2 events that the successful contractor will need to accommodate within their project planning. One of these events requires the full completion of the bandstand works by 25 July 2026. Further details of these 2 events can be found in the tender documents.

The museum will remain open throughout the works.

The closing date for the return of all documents is 2:00pm on Friday 20 February 2026.
