Local Plan Review

The new Local Plan will update the Local Development Framework (LDF), and will establish a new vision, underlying objectives and key principles that will guide the development of the Ribble Valley to 2033.

As part of the plan-making process we are updating our evidence base which will be able to view on this page as it is published.

Call for Sites

As part of the Local Plan Review, The Council is also launching a "Call for Sites" as an open invitation to provide people with the opportunity to tell us about possible sites to be considered for housing, employment or commercial development, as well as sites for nature conservation or use for open space.

At this stage, this simply allows the Council to take into account as wide a range of possible sites for options in forming the Local Plan, as required by Government Planning Guidance.

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Our Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out the approach the Council will take to deliver consultation as it produces the Local Plan.

If you would like to make comments on the SCI, please email your comments to
